THis recipe is shared by Meg Tan in Facebook. She has been using this for 35 years so it has to be good huh!
Ingredients for pastry:
375 butter (room temperature)
3 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
Filling is as much jam as needed,preferably home made
Method is pretty simple. Just mix all ingredients together, mould or shape as desired and bake at 170C for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Note to self: add a tablespoon or more of butter to make the dough softer in order to pipe out the pastry to make nastar rolls.

80g icing sugar (can reduce to 60g)
365g plain flour
50g corn flour
40g milk powder
1 Egg yolk + 2 tsp eggwhite
Pre heat 170C for 15 mins.
1) Whisk the butter and icing sugar till light and fluffy
2) Add in egg yolk and egg white and mix briefly.
3) Sift in plain flour, corn flour and milk powder. Blend it well, shape and bake in preheated oven at 170C for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
